Prices for basic draught-proofing for sliding sash windows

I am frequently asked to give basic prices for my work for draught-proofing. Not everyone wants or needs their windows to be paint stripped and redecorated, new fittings added and all the other additions, some people just want their draughts stopped.

If so, this page is where you'll find the costs to get me to draught-proof your sliding sash windows.

 

Work carried out

The work carried out is sashes removed from the frames, any restrictions of sash travel removed, old cords removed, new cords attached, weight run is hoovered out, groove routed into the middle rail, sashes weighed and balanced, new parting and staff beads cut, then sashes replaced and parting and staff beads installed.

 

Prices

Approx six-foot square (approx 3'x2') sliding sash windows minimum €600

Approx twelve-foot square (approx 3'x4') sliding sash windows minimum €650

Approx 18 foot square (approx 3'x6') sliding sash windows minimum €800

Approx 24 foot square (approx 3'x8') sliding sash windows minimum €900

Other sizes of sashes outside these dimensions that would need to be judged individually. Factors such as are windows double-glazed will affect the cost as will.

 

Prices for doors to be draught-proofed

Depending on size and weight plus how old they are the cost is between €350 to €550

 

All prices subject to a visual inspection. Other costs may be involved.
